accidental new business venture brings joy!!!

NOTHING's an accident :) WOW! My life always has a funny way of coming together! So I came to Cali to work on a small "top secret" assignment (on camera) and a different job that I passed up in the past became available to me, not because the position was open but because I am a better fit for the job. About a year ago, when I met an awesome stylist and asked if she ever needed an assistant she said yes but then I was in and out of town filming and doing my own thing and couldn't be here to assist her full time. Well, the night before Halloween we crossed paths again and it turns out she's unhappy with her assistant and would love to hire me! She said I'd start Monday and I DID! Yesterday, was my first day of pre-production on a commercial for this weekend and today I styled a reality show! She left me alone on set on my first day to do other tasks and I have to admit I was nervous. (I mean I've styled before but I may have implied that I had more experience than I do lol) but I do know fashion and I definitely know how a set works from acting, standing in, production assisting, yada yada...it's all the same. It turns out wardrobe lingo has some words I'm not so familiar, ones I didn't really deal with as an intern with but I'm a fast learner! Today was the craziest first day I've ever had on a job...watch the episode when it airs and you'll see why (Season 2 Ep 2 of "You're Cut Off") but I loved almost every minute of it. My boss is flexible and laid back so don't worry acting is still coming first but for now full-time income is an A! As for my travels in the near future...I'll have to get back to you on that. I have a flight home Tuesday but obviously a lot has changed. I'm renting a car (holy expensive!) and need to get my car here somehow and move back asap...apartment hunting commencing soon but for now good night world. 9am Call time :) Oh and I will be home for Thanksgiving and I'm still working on the Premier! Waiting to hear back from some folks...
